Malakoff Interstate Fellowship Ride

NO HELMET NO RIDE! USAGE OF WALKMAN, iPOD OR ANY HEADPHONE DEPENDENT DEVICES ARE NOT ALLOWED DURING THE RIDE! MOUNTAIN BIKES USING KNOBBY TREAD TYRES ARE PROHIBITED. MOUNTAIN BIKES USING TYRES SAFE FOR ROAD ARE WELCOMED.

Over 700 cyclists from around Malaysia are expected to brave the 238 km Malakoff Inter-state Fellowship Ride 2010 covering the three states of Penang, Perak and Kedah. The two-day Ride spans over 31 December 2010 and 1 January 2011, covering challenging terrains of 171 km and 67 km, respectively.

The Ride is co organised by The Penang State Government, Penang Sports Council, KOTRT and Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) and is part of the Company's flagship corporate social responsibility platform – the Malakoff Community Partnerships. Through this Ride, Malakoff aims to combine sports and healthy living with community outreach. While the participants paddle into the dawn of 2011 traversing the scenic 13-km Penang Bridge with a reinforced commitment to healthy lifestyles, they also aim to raise fund for charity organisations that will be announced during the event launch.

To ensure a smooth and safe ride, authorities from Polis Diraja Malaysia, Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang, Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Perai (MPSP), Juru Auto City, Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), Penang Bridge Sdn. Bhd., KTM Motonation and Delta Business Solutions will be working together to extend necessary support.

Entry fee is RM50.00, non-refundable. Entry fees collected will be channeled to charitable organisations. Come ride with us and be the first to cross the newly completed 6 lane Penang Bridge from the island, on a bicycle. Ride with a cause.

Greener and Cleaner Penang Ride

There will be a leisure PDRM escorted ride from TanjongTokong to Balik Pulau and back organised by the MPPP and the ACT cycling club. As the name suggest it is to promote a greener and cleaner Penang. Those who are interested can assemble at TanjongTokong PoliceStation at 730am, 12.12.10 where the ride will start and end at Balik Pulau. There will be one water station at Tlk Bahang and lunch and refreshments will be provided at Balik Pulau. The best thing is it is free and just come over and ride. How often you have a leisurely sunday ride fully escorted by the police. For further information please click here
